i keep hearing that "sharp money" moves the lines
well, in college football and the nfl this season, the line movements are getting DESTROYED. i am keeping track of every line move, and over 50% of the time in BOTH sports, sides that move at least 1 pt are getting beaten........

    what gives?

    any explanations?

I'm not so sure "sharp" money is immune from getting it's a$$ kicked from time to time.

nonsense. Sharp money isn't all that moves the lines.

What's key is reverse line movement, which didn't have a great day. It had the Jets, but missed with Seattle

Sharp money is not about winning the game as much as it is getting the best numbers.

Correct me if Im wrong but I recall DonJuan saying something to this effect "There is no right side, only a right number"

It sounds to me like you are tracking ALL line moves, which is incorrect. You should onlty be tracking reverse line moves, where at least 60% of the bets are on one team and the line moves the opposite way by ar least one point. There were only two such plays today and they split (Won Jets, Lost Seattle).

I should add that Texas Tech stuck out on Saturday, and that thankfully the reverse move scared me off of making a huge bet on Texas.

east carolina opens 2.5, goes to 6 a few hrs before kick-off, then settles in at 5.5

east carolina, of course, only covers the opener of 2.5

what moved the line? square money or sharp money?

you have to know the percentages. If 60+% are on one side and the line moves the other way, you know which way the sharps are betting. The opposite of the public.

where do i find the percentages so i can compare it to the line movement?

and how do we know the percentages are accurage? does every offshore book report every bet?

                    seems unlikely to me

There was no sharo action in this game because the line move matched the money.

You need to do more research before making a thread about this bud.
