I visited there a couple of years ago, ate at the cheesecake factory in the Palisades mall.

Just seemed like a LONG drive from Manhattan to be considered a suburb.

Maybe long commutes don't bother NY people? Cheaper living there?

Nicer than Uniondale, but still not exactly Manhasset.

Ultimately, nothing is worth it on LI, though. The area's downfall is that the unacceptable has become acceptable.

And all of Jersey is retarded, no exceptions.

If you're a big multimillionaire and money doesn't matter - live in Greenwich, CT. Otherwise, bypass the whole NY metropolitan area. One big clusterfu*k. I know this because I'm a native and will probably never get out.
