    Honor and Privilege????
just watching the 2nd half of the broncos game...

and I thought back to the little rant that pennington had, in 04 or 05...to the reporters about how it was an HONOR and a Privilege to be able to cover a nfl franchise.

    do you agree or disagree.

I mean I think it would be a great job... but a job that you had to work hard to get, so i'd be pissed if someone told me it was an honor and a privilege, when I busted my ass to get to that position..

but again, if you handed me that job now... i'd be pleased as punch... what ya think?

It is not an honor, I think it is a frustrating job covering a bunch of ghettos guys and uneducated jocks on a daily basis.

I don't know about it being an honorable position. You probably have to be well connected and know a few people on the inside, just like with corporate jobs.

      Lucky doesn't hurt either......

Pennington said that? Sounds pretty douchy to me. Honor and privilege? Gimme a friggin break.

Being privy to Nelson Mandela's inner circle as he fought for racial justice in South Africa would be an honor and privilege. Covering the NFL? It's just a bunch of smelly men playing a game.

Comes across as a yet another athlete getting carried away with himself and the importance of what he does.

Yes I think that is the perfect word for Pennington's comment: douchy.

          WORD,

isn't it amazing how much western culture places on "distractions", how many millions get poured into "kids games"....

yeah, pennington said that, and it was played over and over by the sports stations.... it was eyebrow raising.

I think it was partly due to him being driven out out of NY. the sports writers had no mercy with him after that... I think he had a very bad game the next week in fact, and got drilled obviously
