Very strong play tonight, Gio Gonzalez had been outstanding all season but really in control as of late posting a 5-1 record w/ a 1.87 ERA over his last 6 starts. Also he is no been handed the 'ACE' Role in the rotation with the shutdown of SS, and I'm sure he's ready for the challenge while chasing a possible CY YOUNG AWARD. As he try's to become the first 19 game winner in the majors.

On the mound tonight for the Mets is the young rookie Collin McHugh. He was brillant in his debut 2 back against the Rockies when he fanned 9 in 7 scoreless innings. He got hit pretty good in his last outing, but that was on the road and I think having the home crowd behind him tonight, we will see a good outing.

im a mets fan lkidd there is no home field advantage there shit no one even goes to these games anymore. (i was there sat. and the stadium was MAYBE half full) also worry about the mets bullpen and the nats not caring about running up the score on teams

Im speaking more to the comfort level he'll have @ home as opposed to his last start in one of the toughest stadiums to play in (St. Louis)

I think you're right about Gio holding the Mets to little or no scoring, but I think just the Nationals' bats alone could run the score up enough to almost cover, if not cover. The 5 games before losing to the Marlins, the Nationals had a total of 43 runs which averages out to 8.6 runs per game. Just one outing like that and its covered, which is very likely facing a rookie pitcher. I hammered the over because of the value, but now everyones got me kind of worried haha.
