bad beat jackpot in poker

so today here in florida poker starts at noon in the dog tracks. So i decide to go for a hour or so. I sit down when we first start and 8 hands into the table the flop comes Kh KD QH not much betting. then QD a bet and a call. then J hearts. guy raises guy reraises all in and and a call. Guy flips over A 10 hearts for a royal and other guy flips over pocket queens. damn i have never been at a table with this. the jackpot was 110 k the one guy got 55 k the other got 27 k and the other 6 of us got roughly 4700. not bad for a 1-2 table. funny thing is there was a guy who was sitting down and dealer ask him if he wanted in and he said he would wait out that hand.. but truth be told if he plays none of us win because cards would of been different.. we each gave him 100.. not a bad halloween.

I assume they took the 31% taxes out right on the spot? Did they pay you all in cash?

Anyway -- congrats!! I've only seen the bad beat jackpot get hit once -- so that is amazing.

Anything over 5 k they are required to take out federal and state right there. they took it out of the two big winners. the rest of us they didnt. they gave us a option for cash or check or both. i took all cash and went to my bank which is about 3 minites away. i only live 5 minites from the track so it was cool. now i have to remember to put some back to pay uncle obama

happened at the WSOP quad aces vs. royal.

I have never seen a bad beat online with quads or higher.Bodog has a bad beat if you have aces full of kings and lose to quads or better and I seen that once,

Now that's sweet! never had a Royal before.. just in the internet. flopped a straight flush before but just got lil money on the pot. The other guy just had a straight. oh well.. when can I have my big break...

I had a Royal once - got very little out of it though, nobody else had anything halfway decent in the hand :-)

Your allowed to have 110K on the table at a 1-2 table?

No Masta, thats what the jackpot amount was. The jackpot applies to every qualifying table and they take a small extra rake from the pot for it
