#12I don't mind non-gamblers. It's the talking sports with non-gamblers part that gets to me.
People aren't even watching the same game as me. Asshats thinking winning is winning. It's ATS that counts goddamnit!

Ill never fukkin get grown men wearing jerseys and team colors going crazy because they're favorite team that has absolutely no real tie to them is winning a game. The "fans" at any sports bar are pretty much second class citizens as far as I'm concerned.
All that said I have my gambling friends and my non gambling friends to help keep balance. Get fukkin plastered with either group win or lose.Comment -

#16Haha agreed. When you have money on the spread too you become very aware of the questionable calls in an NFL game. Like some team is winning late in the 4th quarter 30-10 and the O/U is 44 and they call back a TD on a BS call so the team kicks a FG.Originally posted by ChalkyDogI don't mind non-gamblers. A buddy of mine is like this when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. When he talks about the Cowboys he always says "WE" like he's on the damn team. It wouldn't annoy me so much if he was actually from Dallas... or if he had ever once actually been to Dallas.

#21If you've ever lived in or near the city or state of the team you consider "WE" I will definitely give you a pass. I guarantee you that my buddy who has never even been to Dallas told everyone at work today "I knew WE were going to win last night".Originally posted by chilidogI think every sports fan that I've ever known as said 'we' when referring to the team. #23The worst is when you are watching a game with non-gamblers and you need points and they don't know you have money on the game (because you are an idiot if you do that, right?). The team you are going for doesn't get the points and you are completely wiped out, pissed, wanna scream and nobody in the room has any idea that this is happening to you and you have to "cover it up" (because anyone that would put money on a sporting event is an idiot, right?). You just want to shout, but instead you are the best actor ever and say "Yea, your potato salad was really good, thanks a lot for making it, Aunt Mildred"!!!Comment -

I know a lot of gamblers. Here is the one conclusion I've made over the years. These are generalities. Do not apply to all gamblers.
1. The real gamblers I know are sharp, but not smart. Out of touch. Have difficulty with communication and understanding motives. They are skilled in their field, but struggle to intellectually contribute to subjects outside of trading/betting markets.
2. Gamblers are close minded, selfish, and lazy (when it comes to physical activity).
3. Gamblers are unfit for romance.
4. Gamblers can see miles past the obvious in this field, but sometimes lack common sense in the real world.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#32Just got home from the bar, talked to a lady that worked the money room at Albuquerque Downs,
now that was an interesting conversation
I had a hard time understanding tote boards, and what happens when someone hits really big on a simulcast track
very enlightening, very interesting
girls @ my work trying to talk to me about Chad Johnson and headbutting whatever her name is
I'm like,"yeah, bitch probably deserved it, because she's a hoodrat. But Chad should pay the price for it."
At least I'll give the girls @ my work a little credit for trying to connect w/ the old gambling guy.
But yeah, I'm becoming that way where conversations seem too boring when its nonsense like that.Comment -

#34But that's the thing. The average person would think we are nuts. They'd watch a JJGOLD video and think he needs to get admitted where as we all think he's normal and hilarious. I think normal people are boring and talk about boring shit. Gamblers have no limits. Would you rather bang a really hot girl or get head from 2 average girls? Normal people aren't always trying to quantify things.Originally posted by chingoagree with these two as well.

Another one. Gamblers are a cynical bunch. ESPN could be talking about how great the USC offense as they whoop up on crap teams and a gambler will tell you they won't look that good against a REAL defense etc. ESPN tries to make up story lines whether they are true or not. Gamblers call them out on that bullshit and often win. True gamblers see the negative in things especially happy story lines pushed by the networks.Comment
