While I support legal immigration and a massive overhaul in the system to make it work more effectively (and a heluva lot easier) - amnesty for breaking the law is no answer to the issue...

Obama's immigration plan really doesn't feel cemented to me - but it makes more sense than saying 'f it, you're here - here's some welfare and social security'. That's all we need is to continue the trend upwards of poverty in the nation and enlarging the welfare state.

i think if an older black person votes for obama because he's black, that's certainly a better than any other reason i've heard.

most of us never experienced segregation, which was still around when harvey was a kid. and if by voting for someone of color somehow helps them contend with that mistreatment from their past, i can somehow understand that. i dont agree with it, but i can understand it. i would just hope that these people look more toward the future and their kids futures than the past.
