The numbers advertised come from smoking machines, which "smoke" the cigarettes the same way. The only reason that you get less tar and nicotine with light cigarettes is because of the perforations in the filter, allowing more air to come in, thus you're smoking less of the cigarette. However, if your fingers or lips were to cover those holes, or you took longer drags, etc., would be getting the same amount of tar and nicotine. For this reason, the government made them quit using the word light on packaging.

Im not denying that so called light cigs pose similar or even greater health risks. Phenomena such as increased drags, smoking style (covering holes) have been shown to cause a light smoker to ingest equal or greater toxins,, and big tobacco knows this. However, to represent the cigs as ONLY having the filter difference you correctly point out is misleading. Again, most major brands use different tobacco blends in each of their cigs. Why wouldn't they when they know you'll inhale just as much nicotine. Maybe its high level semantics, but to represent light cigs as rolling off thesame assembly line with EXACTLY the same tobacco is misleading.

One of the best threads in awhile. I remember when I placed my first internet wager for $20. $20 became $30. $30 became $50. $50 became a $100. And then so on. I don't feel like I accomplished anything unless 500 is on a game. $100 is too little... $1,000 too much. $500 perfect. When you lose.. start going ape sh#$.

Someone mentioned it's not fun anymore? When it "feels" like it isn't fun anymore... you need to take 5-7 days off. There's no other way... or you're in for a major TILT. It's almost like you have to hit the reset button?
