The point is that you pay taxes on only profit. It doesn't affect how you make decisions with respect to expenses. If a business was maximizing profits before, a higher tax rate on its profits won't change its decisions with respect to expenses-- it will continue to maximize profits by doing the same thing it was before.

From a business perspective, if the company is on the 250k borderline, it would make more sense to increase expenses slightly to fall into the lower tax bracket. Cutting benefits for employees would almost certainly reduce productivity.

Homeless people use the hospital as a taxi to get from one side of the town to the other and because by law we have to transport them there is nothing we can do about it. We take these people from one side of the city to the other, they stink and they are foul mouthed and rude. There is RARELY anything wrong with these people...

They are abusers of the system and there are many of them. These abusers of the system are the ones who reap the largest reward for the system you want to adopt.

You know the system that is in Europe- why do rich europeans come to America when they need serious surgeries and healthcare? That would be because our healthcare system is the best in the world. Its not free but it is the best! Why dont they just sign up and wait in line in their own country if the universal healthcare plans are so good?
