Actually he turned down a 5 year extension last year, for a 2 year deal through arbitration. Cain, and Bumgarner will end up making for money throughout their careers.

Its not that he doesnt care. If that were the case he would have signed a long term deal instead of a two-year deal. The Giants tried to lock him up long term and he said he preferred to keep it short term.

The drop off from Lincecum this year really is astonishing. Despite his sub .500 record last year, he really was a victim of poor run support, ending the season with a 2.74 ERA.

For his ERA to be pretty much double what is has been over the previous 4 seasons really is alarming.

If he fails to discover whatever made gave him such great success over the past few seasons, at least he managed to win a couple of CY Youngs and a WS Ring. Only problem being that smoking all that green clouded his judgement and may have cost him $50m in earnings.

Hopefully he'll discover some form from next season, though.
