Attention SBR MODS: CLARIFICATION ON BUMPING OLD THREADS

The policy is don't bump a thread that shouldn't be bumped. The sole discretion of the moderators upon what is an unreasonable bump. This isn't a fukkin democracy, got it?

I went back to bump some of my old threads because like so many other arbitrary rules they come up with I didn't like this one either, especially since it's apparently an unwritten rule. Turns out though I've never created a thread worthy of bumping even in the most defiant of times.

Could it depend on the context of the bump? There could be a difference between a relevant bump and a "just stirring the pot" bump.

The mods use their judgement is the answer. Most bumps are from subject matter that is relevant today or just a good thread. If a gayliver or anyone else is bumping threads to be nuisance then the mods will moderate.

Arch, it's clear that not only are the Mods allowed to use discretion to determine what constitutes as nuisance or not but they are also allowed to use discretion in deciding who gets a warning and who gets an infraction for the same offense.

I went back and checked and bumping of threads is not included in the rules but then again things that are included in the rules are overlooked all the time depending on the poster anyways.

a few months back instead of bumping a thread with an old willie bee picture that willie posted I just posted it in a thread and got an infraction for "posting personal pics of others"

Opie doesn't care much either, I woke him up from a sleep just now but he really doesn't seem to care too much for the average poster

I would suggest keeping you opinions to yourself, not making new friends here at SBR, and not questioning authority
