University of San Diego Game Fixing
Three defendants in the University of San Diego University sports bribery scandal have pleaded guilty, according to this story in U-T San Diego.

Steve Goria, Richard Garmo and Paul Thweni pleaded guilty to bribing the Toreros' all-time leading scorer, Brandon Johnson, in order to help them fix games.

“You need the point guard. That guy will slow the ball down. Makes the bad pass. Passes it to the weak guy on the team,” Garmo was heard saying in a recorded conversation by the FBI, as reported in the story.

The team's assistant coach, T.J. Brown, was paid $10,000 as the go-between to set up the deal with Johnson on behalf of the bribery ring. In the plea agreement, Goria said the scheme netted a profit of more than $120,000.

The games were reportedly played during the 2009-2010 season. The three face a maximum of five years with sentencing set for October.

      interesting

San Diego was 5-17-1 ATS over their last 23 games that year

that LMU game they were only 3.5 point home faves, lost the game by 3. Seems like it was cutting it a bit close

Next game they were 9.5 point home faves, won by 17, wonder why they didn't fix that game too

Arizona St. won one fixed game by over 40 points, everyone is not in on it. Wow that was the year I won a big bet on San Diego against Oklahoma too, before they started rigging games

Especially the college players who have no hope of making into the NBA you bet they're more likely to be getting paid

Read the book that I mentioned above. The San Diego thing is a drop in the bucket. Do you have any idea how many NCAA athletes at major division 1 schools are deep in debt to bookies? How do you think they pay those bookies back?

Look the truth is, this will always happen. Why? Because you have financially strapped College kids who need money. Until the NCAA stops being fukkin greedy and agrees to give players even a small cut from the multi million dollars each school makes off it's players this will happen.

I still don't see why other than greed why they won't pay these kids.
