Jeter isn't in the same league a Rose & frankly Rose isn't even in the same league as Cobb. Rose would never have become hit king if Marge Schott had not rescued him from Montreal to make him playing manager of the Reds. For 2 years Rose as manager constantly inserted a washed up 1st Baseman, himself into the lineup in order to break the record. Who ever would play a .230 hitting with no power playing 1B, only manager Rose to break the record.

Having said that Rose was a far better player than Jeter, led league in runs 4 times, doubles 4 times & batting average 3 times.
