Should Stiffs be forced to have a signature that declares them as deadbeats?
Obviously we can't stop stiffs from posting and pandering, but we can take steps to protect the posting public. I propose that known stiffs be required to have a permanent signature that clearly states they're deadbeats.

Think of it as similar to child molesters being forced to register before re-entering society, supposedly for the general public's protection.

So what do you think? And what should this signature actually say?

I give this idea my full support.

I still prefer banning but this is a reasonable plan "B".

As for the specifics of the scumbaggery warning, here are some possibilities:

STIFFS suck ass and I am one.

    I suck a'plenty.

I suck the hugest ass you could ever imagine.

    Caution, extreme suction.

Something around the theme of sucking, I'm thinking.

Or maybe it could be something more simple and elegant. Like:

Hi, I am the forum tampon.

Should every racists, killer, wife-beater, child neglector be required to use a signature on this site? I understand that this is a site for handicappers, bettors, gamblers or whatever you choose to call yourself. So, you probably think its justified but I dont think people being stiffs has anything to do with handicapping, making picks, sharing ideas. From what Ive heard people have been warned not to make direct bets with others. So, no, I dont think they should be required to. I think those stuck on this stiff stuff need to prioritize better just as the stiffs do.

You make valid points--just about everyone of us would have to display at least one forced signature (some would have multiple) under your way of thinking. But this is a gambling forum, and I for one think deadbeats and shils should be "registered".

Now as far as Murders, wife-beaters, child molesters and the like, I see no need for registering here--because we are not their "target" audience. We do however have some young gullible gamblers here that are easy prey. SBR should offer them a little more protection, IMO.

Why stop with just stiffs, Hedge? How about players getting over on books with multiple accounts even though that is clearly against terms of service and hurts the honest player in the end? I'm all for culling and/or identifying each and every cheater.

Yes, this thread was bound to get into the if-we-can't-solve-every-single-problem-there-is-no-sense-solving-any kind of logic.

I find that logic flawed but I wasn't actually expecting any results anyway.

I was looking more at the humor potential.

That's branching out to protect Books and I really don't see the need. They have forfeiture clauses and the like to confiscate the Cheats' illegit gains.

Ok, so sticking it to the books is ok, sticking it to an individual is not. In that same light, if I knock off a local Bank of America that would be ok but if I mug someone walking through Central Park, that's out.

Playing devil's advocate here, HH. Just noting that a cheat is a cheat is a cheat.

I do not give a fuk what posters are whether they are murderers, thieves, scammers, or stiffs. It is all about numbers and we are here to knock out every forum.

This thread reminds me of the time I signed up at a forum years ago and, among my first 20 or so posts, were a few negative comments about sportsbooks advertising there.

They changed the bit under my handle - like, where it says SBR Hall of Famer or whatever - to I am a ghost.

If their goal was to get rid of me, it was successful. (But, as DK points out and I agree, it wouldn't work on DVB.)

Interestingly, I have looked at that forum periodically in the last little while and the term that best describes what I see: ghost town.

True, but everyone will know his rep everytime he posts. It would be a big help for newbies if they saw something like this in his sig:

                                "A $100 parlay on Ten/Over: +260 dollars

A dime bet on the Phils to win the WS: +1400 dollars

Any winning bets vs me, DVB.....Worthless! "
