Well I am seeking advice so not going to comment a lot in it. Compulsive gamblers have a gen in them that others do not so if you can neutralize that gene it can be done and you never gamble again.

well i enjoy gambling, and dont look at it as a "flaw". anything done to excess is bad. drinking, gambling sex, work, etc.

Gambling is actually a decease, some of us have it in our genes, if you start chances are you will never stop unless you have a real strong will power. It is stronger than the urge for a smoke or a drink, what you can do is find other distractions, such a nice girl or a second job; get so busy that you won't have the time to even think about gambling. On the other hand, life would be dull without the drinking or the gambling, so, I'm not planning on stopping either.
