I remember reading of someone who had the KC Royals @ NYY in 1983 and Royals are the underdogs and are down 4-3 top 9 and George Brett hits a 2 run shot to take the lead 5-4 but NYY Manager Billy Martin protests and the Ump checks Brett's bat and deems it illegal and calls him out and the game over NYY wins 4-3

As far as bad beats go, if anyone had Arizona ML they probably killed themselves. Up 15 with 4 minutes to go? That is as sure of a thing as it gets in college basketball.
