I don't think friendlies count in head-to-head records? It's a moot point anyway, I am sure most if not all of the 0-23 was in international cup competitions of some sort, winning a friendly is meaningless. It is the equivalent of an NFL team avenging a playoff loss in a preseason game.

You are all idiots if you think this means nothing!!! Of course it's only a friendly, but this is a huge psychological boost for our men's team! Having never won in Mexico before, we now at least have that monkey off our back. This is big in terms of making our team more relevant. Yes I know we have a long way to go, and Mexico probably didn't take this as serious as they should, but it is still big for us to win a game like this!

Meh, I ain't buying it, mainly because the USA took the game more seriously than Mexico did. Bottom line is winning an exhibition game doesn't make anyone "relevant", because everyone knows the result would have been different if the game was meaningful. To say this game puts the USA on the map is equivalent to saying beating the Super Bowl Champion Giants in a preseason game put the Jaguars on the map last week.
