As a Giants fan, this didn't completely surprise me. There were rumors of a positive test swirling around briefly last month. At that time Melky denied all knowledge. Now we know that he (and probably the team) were well aware of the positive test and that he was undergoing the MLB's appeal process at the same time they were handing him the All-Star MVP trophy.
