Just guess then. His ERA was under 3 in 2008, 4.8 in 2011, 2.2 or so this year although going up in AL... and then mid 3's in 2009/2010...

The average ERA there is probably 3.5 or so. Nothing wrong with a 3.5 ERA. And hell, if you take out 2011, the outlier, it is more like 3. So to say hes been as garbage as a piece of shit like Correia is just stupid. I guess if you want to dumb the argument down and compare Dempster's career stats when he hasn't been the same guy lately due to major arm injuries/surgery/closer converting, then go ahead.

luckily for the Rangers they have a very stout bullpen this year. They are previledged to have Roy Oswalt as a long reliever and I can see Roy Oswalt helping the ball club out tremendously in the playoffs in this role.

I forsee the Rangers being a tough out in the playoffs but it will not be because of their starting pitching. I can see the Rangers pitchers having multiple 3-4 inning starts and turning it over to the pen.

But the Rangers can RAKE... nobody not even the Yankees can hit as good as the Rangers.

dude Chi Archie get over it. Ryan Dempster sucks donkey balls.

Dempster has been absolutely shelled since joining the Rangers. He is not a good pitcher. Never was. Just got lucky pitching against the weak ass NL central.

Sure we'll go with that. We will make exceptions for his injuries, and his bullpen conversions. We will just consider a third of his career. We will take out his worst year in that time period...because it'll help his era. We will no longer look at his first 8 or so years in the league too.

Demps looking great thru 7 tonite. Easily his best outing as a Ranger.

                      Glad to see it!!

                            LOOKING GOOD AS A RANGER:

Ryan Dempster (11-6) won his fifth straight start and improved to 6-1 since he was acquired by the Rangers on July 31. The right-hander allowed two runs and struck out eight in seven innings.
