Many years ago as Yankee fan I would listen and watch the games on tv and Phil Rizzuto would often mention Johnny Pesky. Either they had a friendly feud or he really didn't like the guy. I think they were both fierce competitors and probably a bunch of high slides or something like that. I can still remember and hear Rizutto complaining about him. lol
