Always looking for recommendations...normally just eat Mexican food in old town, since we can just hop on trolley and don't need to worry about driving.

You've heard of Tacos el Gordo on Highland in National City? How about Lucha Libre Tacos on West Washington st, San Diego? Take Mayan out to one of those for a date. I'm sure this will make him cuddle you unconditionally.

When I was in San Diego (lemon grove, national city), about 15 yrs ago, I lived on carne asada burritos.



Seems like all the places we went to had names like Robertos, Humbertos..and about about 10 other -'bertos.

Anything ending with "...bertos" is just generic. You can make this at home anytime. I might be going out this friday so I'll record some food and make a few shout outs.

Like posted above, lots of "Bertos" on the west coast. Not many have tried my spot I go when in the heart of SD.
