    Long putters are for hacks.
    Should be outlawed.

Mainly used by fat guys or yippers. I'm with Tiger on this one: it's all about the art of controlling the body.

I disagree.......I think you can use whatever the heck you want.
Are they going to make specific dimensions that cant be exceeded??

A lot of players are pisses about people anchoring the putter to their body which takes one of the difficult dimensions out of putting.

Some suggestions say that they make it where your putter cannot exceed the leg nth of he shortest club in your bag.

I tried one and didn't like it at all. If you don't have a big gourd on you it does you no good at all

Arguement is a lot of nonsense. If it really was a noticeable advantage, every PGA player would use one.

so you don't think there is an advantage? look up adam scott's numbers before he changed to a belly putter and after.

If you made your living playing golf and you thought there was an advantage, wouldn't you use it? Long putters have been around for 25 years, all of a sudden it's an unfair advantage. Why aren't 75% of pros using them?

If a pro was last on the tour in driving accuracy and got a new driver and improved dramatically, should that driver then be banned? What about the super thick putting grips? People will always find something to complain about

A long putter helps some golfers and not others. Just like some guys have better feel with short putters. They should be allowed.

I am in the market for a belly putter. I am currently using a blade - and am awful. A belly mallet would be great.

As far as arguments sake - who gives a flying fukk? Let hackers hack.

                            I am a weekly golfer and there's 2 things I can't stand.

                            1. Slow play
                            2. Belly/long putters

I'm sure most golfers would agree. Couldn't pay me to be seen with a belly putter. Those things are for the desperate and homosexuals

I agree that weeked warriors should be able to play with anything they want.

Anchoring at that level is cheating.

So is winter rules in summer. So is improving my lie from behind a tree to not behind a tree.

Listen man, I play golf to have a break from the real world. Getting to the green in 2, and shitting the bed to a bogey is not fun. I am awful at putting, have always been awful at putting, and for the life of me I cannot put in the work to better myself at putting. I am a mid/low 80's golfer. If I can improve that score by way of the putting green by simply buying a perfectly legal, albeit ridiculous looking, putter - than so be it. I am not going to spend hours trying to improve my putting game like I have with my chipping, wedges, irons and driver.

I am your true once a month hacker. As a result, anything that makes this game easier is good for me.

About time they did something about this . So long belly putters, never was a fan

Won't take effect for a while though.

The R&A and United States Golf Association have confirmed that the ban on anchored strokes will come into effect from January 1, 2016.

Happy to see the change, a lever is way easier to control than a pendulum.
