It's never been a place for informative gambling talk, but even by those standards the last couple days have been embarrassing. Personally, I've never understood why posters' plays started in the main forum aren't moved to the sport-specific subforum, but I guess I'm in the minority on this because the mods don't do anything about it. However, the ridiculous threads Robyn's alluded to have become all too common and made this place unbearable.

As long as Richie and Firecracker are allowed to promote CW uncontested in Players Talk the quality of the forum will always be close to zero. I have complained too but my concerns reach deaf ears.

I have seen it worse. In fact I have found it improving in the last little while. I confess I prefer the political stuff over the attention-whoring, games-playing, man-crush stuff that this forum is renowned for.

Fortunately SBR has BY FAR the best sportsbook and industry discussion of any forum. By MILES. That hasn't changed. If you are any kind of serious player, you would be a fool to have any other forum as your primary.

Sharp post. I think one of the things I've always liked about Players Talk, (even when I've thought some stuff was off the cuff), is that you're free to express yourself. Whether you're a guy that wants to come in and share your political views with everyone, or maybe your favorite sports bet that weekend, you're welcomed here.

I think that dynamic is what will add to peoples likes or dislikes, but you can't go filtering out stuff that some people like because no matter what, you'd be catering to someone. I say, live and let post.

word used to read a lot of the Players Talk. Now I'm just lucky to open a thread. I stick to the specific forums now.

I think you guys need to keep in mind what the Players Talk forum is all about. As Lou indicated, it is a gathering point for Off Topic conversation, which is quite often full of incongruous topics.

I do agree with rjt however. It becomes quite cumbersome when every other thread is complaining about private messages or some other ridiculous political message slandering a presidential hopeful.

Your best bet is to either stick to the sport specific forums or refrain from entering a thread with a subject title that doesn't interest you.

I have no clue what the OP is talking about. Player's Talk serves a huge market for the patrons of this forum. The Sports-specific subforums are so dry and droll, the Player's Talk is the only one with interesting conversation. Everything's fair game, and that's what makes it great. Drama is what makes the world go 'round, and Player's Talk has the best drama on the internet, bar none.

The problem is not too many bad threads, but not enough good ones. And this isn't it.
The threads from the political forum and I think all others automatically appear in players talk. Maybe that should be changed.
