    aussie race corruption
for those who follow racing i have just witnessed what i am sure is past posting, happening right under our noses.

race 4b today from rosehill. the winner was 31-1 on the aussie books, and the aussie pari-mutual pools.

the US pools are seperate of course. he is ~25-1 one second before the race starts, then bang goes to 7/2.

    of course he wins.

pays 9 to win 35 dollars to place.

I dont know if sbr can help expose this as i am sure the pool operators know who is placing the wagers.

this has been going on for a long time, but this is the most egregious move i have seen to date.

looking for some ideas and feedback, thanks.

Those pools are pretty small on the US side -- anything is possible -- could've been a couple of hundred at the last minute --- but it does make you think

              .
No need to worry about it being corrupt.
This is a classic example of the Win pool & all the pools there are just way to small. I have them in my program but I don't like to play tracks that are that small. What that is is just smart money!
It's the connections ( Owner or Trainer) They make their wagers so late that no one can re-coup or run to the window to wager themselves. They stand at the window & make the bet just b4 they go off. It's all in the timing. So as you can see it won! They just ended up buying probably 50% or more of the Win pool. They were so sure he was gunna win that they didn't even bother to back up the wager in the Place hole! Hence that is why he payed so much better to Place & even Show!
This happens all the time at every track. The only difference is the pool sizes. It's not as noticeable when the pools are much larger. Then they can wager even more but not get noticed by the public as much. I usually never play pools that are less than $10,000 in the Win pools. (Unless it's the only track running.) I see it happen everyday! Those win pools there are only a couple thousand dollars if that on many races! It just so happens you played the same horse that was the right one to play but got caught in the Plunge by smart money!
It's all part of the game, but it's not corrupt!

              Continued best of Luck!

this pool was in america, the race was in australia. the owners would bet in australia and get 30-1, not in the tiny american pool to get 3-1.

Agree completely. Whoever did this was an amateur because anyone past posting a race from Oz should know what an $800ish bet would do at those the pool sizes.

i play these races frequently it happens quite often. i play them cause the races are not as corrupt as american racing.

but this happens all the time. i hardly beleive an amateur would bet so much and get so lucky. they were greedy and saturdays are the best days as pools are largest.

you think an amateur would bet 800 ONLY to win on a 30-1 shot? did not even touch the place and show pool.

this is not an isolated incident.
