He is 7-2 in the UFC. You realize that right? Machida is 9-3 in the UFC including 1-3 in his last 4 fights. They are both really good fighters but if you believe Bader is not good then please tell us why.

Awesome post. Machida got caught against one of the greatest LHW's ever, "lost" to Rampage, and lost to Jon Jones, who's of course not that good, so he shouldn't be a big favorite over a guy who was losing to Jardine before he caught him, looked pathetic against Jones and lost to a guy who last won when my grandmother was still hooking. I'm all over Bader now. You convinced me.

I never endorsed Bader, nor did I say I was on him. I said I'm not on Machida here, he's overvalued. Guy looked like a killer on his way to winning the belt. Styles make fights and Bader could make this an ugly clinch fight. I need to see the Old Machida befor I back him at these odds. Machida should win, he shouldn't be that heavily favored though.

*Also, I start seeing it as a red flag when guys talk about switching weight classes.

Do fighters ever just clinch Machida? I mean people act like it happened in the Page fight. It hardly did. They just didn't throw anything for the first 2 rounds because Machida played the keep away game and then went for it in the 3rd. So not sure what this "old Machida" means. Old Machida basically means boring karate point fighting.

Bottom line it is hard to catch Machida and corner him, let alone clinch him.

Also, did Machida talk about changing classes? A reporting asked that if at 201 he was thinking about going to 185. Machida sort of laughed and said no but if the UFC had a fight for him there he would think about it. So he really wasn't talking about 185 like you say he was...

Well when you say "old machida" I went back older. When he first came to the UFC. He was a point fighter and still is when he senses danger or if he doesn't see an opening.
