    Cliff Lee claimed on waivers
If you're the Phillies, you let him walk right? They aren't gonna get any real good prospects unless they eat a TON of his contract.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that Cliff Lee was claimed off waivers.

Lee was expected to clear waivers, so it comes as a minor surprise, but this doesn't mean that he'll be on the move. The Phillies have the option of simply pulling him back, assign Lee's contract to the team that won the claim or try to work out a trade with the claiming team. The veteran left-hander has the ability to block trades to 21 teams.

Remember a few years back when the White Sox claimed Alex Rios? This is similar IMO.

I feel like the Phillies would be morons to pull him back. Just let him walk.

Probably Dbacks. That'll block the Dodgers, because the Dbacks are on Cliff Lee's no trade list.

It's strategery. But if it took this long I think it must be a contender. Philly will let him go I think

According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, the Dodgers were awarded claiming rights on Phillies' left-hander Cliff Lee.

We've heard plenty of speculation about the identity of the claiming team over the past hour, but the Dodgers made the most sense, as the new ownership has plenty of money to spend and have already shown that they aren't afraid to make a big splash. The Dodgers now have three days to work out a trade with the Phillies, but Morosi and Jon Heyman of CBS Sports are both hearing that a deal is seen as unlikely. The Phillies have the option of pulling Lee back from waivers and keeping him.
