Not the favorite, but he's definitely moving up.

Albert has been Albert the last couple months, but he's really not in the MVP discussion, let alone the favorite.

Trout is probably leading the MVP race. Still lots of games left tho

Jinxed the Angels, Cutch not in the same league. Well maybe not if the voting is today but based on current numbers and projected numbers for the rest of the year I think he is the favorite, or at least was at the time of the thread losing the game may cost them the division.

Let's see if he'll finish out strong first. Gotta remember he has never played a full season, he could break down.

miguel cabrera is the leader for the AL and cutch for the NL

last year with verlander was a joke

why have a cy young if ur gonna give the MVP to a pitcher? i can understand he won 25 games but still get rid of the cy young overall if ur gonna be giving MVPs to pitchers

mariano rivera probably meant the most to any one team over the years and he never won any cy young or MVP .. and thats cuz hes a realiever .... these awards other than the MVP and GOLD GLOVES mean nothing IMO ....

If he plays the next 2 months like he has the past 2 months he'll be MVP. Right now his 22 homers 71 RBI are ONLY ordinary superstar numbers this time of year, in spite of spotting the rest of the league a 6 week head start.

He has more homeruns and rbi's? He better considering Trout leads off and Cabrera's played 23 more games. Trout easily beats him in average, runs, stolen bases, on base percentage, slugging percentage, ops, his teams better (because he personally turned that team around), and he leads baseball in WAR. I guess Cabrera's got him in walks for no other reason than more games played. MVP = Most Valuable Player. Trout is the definition of that. I haven't seen any player more valuable to his team since Barry Bonds was either hitting a bomb or being walked in every at bat. If the season ended today, Trout should win in a landslide.

yeah but bob look at that team overall they have the cy young on the team a better lineup than the tigers if trout wasnt on the angels they would of eventually turned it around. The tigers i dont think so verlander isnt having a great year and fielder isnt having that good of a year and nor is young or bosech. It might be trouts to lose but if he slips up he will lose it to cabrera especially if the tigers win their division and angels just get the wildcard

Verlander's having a great year, really about the same as Weaver. Fielder's having a very good year too, close or better than Pujols. Nobody knows if the Angels would have turned it around without him. Fact is they were trash before him, 6-14 to be exact. 51-34 wtih him and that pace would be good for the best winning percentage in the league. While Cabrera still has his team underachieving and looking up in the standings as they have all year as one of the biggest division favorites I've seen. Trout has scored 81 runs in 82 games which is around a top 10 all time pace. Before Trout, Angles leadoff hitters scored 6 runs in 20 games which is laughable. Trout's got 6 runs scored this series alone. Throw out the stats, which are absurd, but just use the eye test. It's quite clear the impact Trout has had. He turned that team around while leading the league in a lot of categories and excelling in the others. As I said earlier, there hasn't been a better definition of most valuable player than Mike Trout since Barry Bonds.
