Olympics are simply watching the wierdo shit sports that are more of clubs here than anything else. It is fantastic. I know baseball, and it is fukkin' boring. At least this shit is fun to get a little bit heady and wonder what the hell is going on - trying to figure out who you will bet once you figure out the goddamn schedule.

Yesterday I bet Dana Vollmer if you watched the semi's she pummeled the field she won the event but a little closer than I though she was +125 I made a thread saying bet her though.

I think that China bet is a good one. They have strong people in all of the sports that don't get talked about much and they quietly rack up a ton of medals. The only bet I've made so far was the GB spread against the Aussie women in basketball. I keep wanting to bet something but there's just so much going on that it's hard to focus.

Exactly. From my experience women are more into the Olympics then men. The only reason that I'm even aware that they are going on is that I was overruled on Friday night by my wife and daughters and forced to watch the opening ceremonies. Baseball will be on this afternoon.

Its like the California approach. Not many people here give a shit about sports in general. not like people from other parts of the country. So the Olympics are to the world what 'normal' sports are to the U.S. (except California). So while JJ thinks he is too cool for the Olympics, we in California are too cool for ALL sports, including the NFL (so much we dont even care if we have a team), the NBA (even when the lakers win it isnt enough to get casual people to care, when they stink no one even knows the NBA exists) and the NHL (just won a Stanley Cup and no one even knew about it). The percentage of actual fans in ratio to people who give a shit is minuscule.

So basically the rest of the world looks at the Olympics like the US (minus California) approaches the NFL season.
