Is it possible to win betting boxing despite the huge moneyline spreads? Any input would be appreciated.

#3No. Boxing is a unique sport where all bets are losses no matter the outcome.Comment -

#4You have a better chance with the over under than ML... most matchups are guaranteed to lose with huge upsets coming out of nowhere from time to time.Comment -

#8It's better to bet on the underdogs in MMA because matchups are usually even and upsets are not really upsets sometimes.
Boxing... a lot of their fights are set up so somebody can win with ease and odds are whack sometimes that it's not even worth it to risk sometimes.
Sometimes you get great odds though!
I took Beltran at a little over +800 odds over lundy and he just belted out a MD win!
My point is... lines for boxing is crap sometimes that it'll be hard to make a profit.... and you could easily go down because the upsets can kill.Comment -

#9i think you'd have better long term success betting all dogs worse than +300 (-110 to +299)
i compiled some statistics in 2010 and 2011 (had to stop because it got too time consuming). results showed that dogs from -110 to +299 did much better than dogs +300 or better. in particular, dogs in the -110 to +199 range did surprisingly well. however, this was very crude and unscientific research so i wouldnt put too much weight into it.Comment -

#10I agree... in boxing.... it doesn't fair very well. You get surprise upsets... but in the range you said, those dogs are dogs because of their record or some other reason.Comment -

#12As I've said time and time again...u can make a lot of money betting on boxing...u just have to actually know what u are dealing with...there's a lot more than just predicting who will win a fight....u need to know whom promotes said fighter and how influential they might be with a network....who does the network want to win....where the fight is taking place...etc...a lot of factors...more than just picking a stylistic matchup winner..Comment -

#14You can do pretty well even despite the heavier juice.
Any individual sport can often be beat easier than team sports with the right capping. If you can follow certain weight classes more closely than others, that can especially help a lot.Comment -
