I went 1-1 on day 1 with the young Nigerian team giving up a 19 point pre halftime lead to fail to cover the -11.5, although we rebounded with Argentina smashing the -4.5 against an over-rated Lithuanian team in my PLAY OF THE DAY!

Un-fortunately I fell asleep before posting the Russians -11.5 (half time) against a Brittish team that is only in the olympics because they are the home nation. The reason for a half time line is the Russians cant be trusted full game as they will start coasting once they have a game locked up, which is exactly what they did.

The Brittish women aren't actually that bad as they have prominent ex Australian coach Tom Maher who has really whipped them into shape as a solid defensive unit however the Brittish men really are nothing special. They do have Luol Deng but seriously, who gives a ****. Put Lebron on the team instead and it would make no difference. When you only have 1 really good player, opposing teams will simply double team you and force other less talented players to make plays.

Anyway enough England bashing (although I am Australian so therefor it is my birth right haha) and on to todays games...

play 1 - China +16 (v. Russia) Pinnacle -112 (bought half point)

Alot has changed since 2010 world championships when China finished in 16th place with a 1-5 record. In the 2011 Fiba Asian Championships China smashed everyone (without Yao Ming) going 9-0 and taking the asian title although it should be noted that Asia is the weakest basketball zone and the Chinese played world #28 ranked Jordan in the final. However Yao the big injury prone arse clown has started a basketball revolution in the insanely over-populated China and it's just mathematics people - when 1 Billion plus are interested in basketball - serious talent will emerge.... I must say the T-wolves bound duo of Svhed and Kirilenko were immpressive especially Kirilenko who had 30 something points, however NBA player Yi Jianlian was pretty immpressive himself with a lazy 30/12 against a powerful Gasol led Spanish front court.

Bottom line - Russia should win by I do not see them covering the 16 points ATS. Russia was clinical in putting away the world ranked #43 Brittish team, however China was quite competitive with Spain until the 4th quarter.

*Wow I do not believe the Chinamen could have played any worse if they tried and yet they still only missed the cover by 3 points. Seriously though they were absolutely pathetic and the Russians were very immpressive (in the first half anyway)
