If hamels signs the extension of course. Imo makes sense for both sides. Philly needs help at 3b and Lf bad Middlebrooks is a rising star, cody ross has showm the ability to drivin in 90 to 100 rbi 20 hr hitting around 270 and ciraco has produced big time in the time he has played. The question is, is that enough foe philly or does boston have to throw say Crawford too?

umm... throwing Crawford weakens the deal for Philly and strengthens the deal for Boston... come on man, you put your lack of baseball knowledge on a T sometimes...

Not saying Crawford is worthless, but in a trade negotiation, Crawford clearly has negative value.

Can't give up Middlebrooks. They parted ways with Youkilis, because they believe he's their future, so that's already a no with Middlebrooks in there.

But he's not worth the salary he's getting paid and is also injury prone now.

I doubt the Phillies want salary in return for Hamels though so it is a moot point.

yeah, forgot about the huge contract he comes with. gotta remember though Crawford had one bad season his 1st year in Boston and before that he was one of the best 5 tool players in the AL for a long time. that doesn't just go away. he isn't up there in age. gotta stay healthy though.

Red Sox should be sellers not buyers
