Lot of people are using Hamels as the reason why they would back the phillies, would love to see him get lit up tonight.
TB's pitching is superior.

Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it. I would be more worried about the Phils hitting Kazmir tonight.

I didnt change, Lester got blown away, but hes still a better pitcher than anyone on the Rays team. All starters have their bad nights, too bad he had his worst 2 nights in that series. Can't take away from how clutch he's been from the start of his career, and he will have much more to add to his resume in the future.
Rays win the series, starting with game 1.

does anybody realize that Garza and Sonnastine are pitching over their heads......this series comes down to bullpens anyway and in tight games I'll take lidge over anybody on tampa.

TB does have better pitching but I think Hamels could easily win both his starts.
TB would have to win 4 of the other 5, a tough task.
If the Rays win tonight, the Rays are a pretty good bet to take the series.

Sonnanstine sometimes, but the guy knows how to pitch in the zone and pitch to contact, and he is their number 4. Garza absolutely not, the guy has electric stuff, he just needed to figure it out.

i say Philly has the better pitching, starting and especially the BP. Garza is still garbage in my book, he's just had a good year, and Sonnanstine is shit.
I think the Rays when this , well while i'm typing this it's 2-0 Philly, but before the series started i thought TB, even though i'm an NL fan and a Braves fan and would like to see an NL East team win it, plus my dads from the Philly area and i've been to some games as a kid.

Rays have the advantage in every game except when Hamels is pitching.
Shields is way better than Wife Beater.
Garza is better than Moyer.
Sonnanstine is better than Blanton.
Rays also have a better overall bullpen. They don't have a closer like Lidge, but overall I'll take Tampa Bay.
I believe the Rays are a slightly better team.

Shields is pitching Game 2. I was matching the pitchers up game by game.
Rays have the advantage in every game except when Hamels is pitching.
I wonder if the Phillies would try pitching Hamels in Game 4 on short rest. Only if they were desperate, I guess.
