you GOTTA fade the Mets tomorrow. getting plus money with Gio.
its engraved in the Mets DNA to collapse like this. its inevitable every year. what makes it even tougher is they got all excited about a come back tonight, only to get drilled for a final of 8-2 in extras.

the life has been sucked out of them. hitters are pressing bad, every pitcher thinks they have to make a perfect pitch.

plus, the Nationals have already had a couple of real good looks at Dickey this year and have him figured out. His last time out against the Nats he was not nearly getting as many swings and misses as he normally does and his strike out rate is declining rapidly. Mets will feel like they have to climb a huge mountain just to scratch a run out of a Gio, while the Nats are perfectly comfortable against Dickey.

when these Mets collapses get rolling nothing can stop them, not even the all star knuckle baller

No thanks. Even when the Mets are slumping they hit for this guy, and Gio's regressing.

speaking of unders... if you trust Maholm to pitch well against his former team, Pirates/Cubs under tomorrow looks like a lock.

Dickey is 1-1 after the break so far. Betting on him to be 1-2 is not something I would be confident in.

Wrong.... The Mets are the play

Gonzalez hasn’t looked anything like an All-Star over his last five starts. The southpaw surrendered six earned runs in 3.1 innings pitched Thursday against the Mets, ballooning his ERA to 5.75 in July.

To make matters worse, the struggling lefty may not get much run support Tuesday in New York. Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey is a perfect 6-0 at home and is seeking his league-leading 14th win of the campaign

owned them?????? he was rocked for 10 hits in his last appearance against them. its just going to get worse as the Nats see him more and more. Dickey is regressing big time. he just got rocked too in his relief stint against the Dodgers. Dickeys been hurt for a 6.78 ERA in his last 5 starts. the mets are 13-35 against LHP this year

The Mets have not only lost seven of nine games this season to the Nationals, but they’re 1-8 since the all-star break and 1-10 over their past 11 after losing the opener last night

Dickey has to go at least 7 innings, prob 8. Mets' bullpen has been AWFUL and have been taxed and abused all weekend. As others on the forum have mentioned there are thunderstorms in the forecast. Humidity and high wind + knuckleball = trouble for Dickey.

that's the problem and why his era is close to 7 his last 5 starts. He's not getting nearly the movement he used to on the knuckler and his strike out rate is declining rapidly. Guys are making more contact than ever against him and u aren't seeing them crazy swings that completely wiff

If the wind is coming from the north then it will behind him. Not a big deal really. In a interview, i remember him saying that he hates throwing in the cold, dry air and when the wind is blowing in towards him. Hard to control.

Gio should bounce back he is a good pitcher. He has potential to throw a great game. Dickey came in relief a few days ago against LA and gave up a HR. He also has been giving up a lot of base hits.
