#2I was a Paterno and PSU fan years ago.
That's changed.
Tear down the statue, fine. I never thought they would, but good.
Take away scholarships, fine.
Wipe out all the accomplishments that the kids that played from 1998 to 2011.

#4I loved the 1994 Penn st team. I was on the field in champaign when they came back and won 35-31 at Illinois. Best game I've ever seen in person. Kerry Collins and coComment -

#5does this mean the books owe me money from last year when i lost money to them winning ?
This is stupid. The coaches did not play the games and the players did not rape the kids.Comment -

#8They should take away every NCAA victory for every school because I'm sure they all broke laws/rules at one time or another.
Only difference is not getting caught or exposed.Comment -

and who gives a fuk
removing victories is the lamest punishment possible...the players still had the experience of playing in all the games and they know whether they won or not....what fukkin difference does it make if some old fukkin book says they lost 2-0 or whatever
i suppose taking paterno's name out of the rule book is fine but thats the only real benefit to thisComment -

#11Taking away wins was a shot at Paternos legacy only. What does it change for players? I wonder how many players will transfer? Gonna be a mad scramble.Comment -

NCAA for decades was the softest organization in any industry. Totally spineless.
Now I am not defending Sandusky, rot in hell. Paterno didn't do his job in this mess, beyond disappointing, etc. etc.
Take the statue down, fine...........
Now, all of a sudden, NCAA grows a set a balls after decades of ineptness.
Hit the school with what, 60 million dollar fine. That university has more money than God, they wipe their ass and light cigars with 100 dollar bills. No wonder PSU signed off on that fine, they got that in their petty cash box alone. Now NCAA can say "see, look what we are doing, while we are at it, let's take a dead mans victories away, that'll teach them too"Comment -

#16This was a way for the NCAA to take a shot at Paterno without announcing they are taking a shot at Paterno. They don't want the all time wins leader to always be affiliated with a major scandal. I'm fine with it. If JoePa had come forward when this first happened, his legacy might have been temporarily damaged, but he would have eventually been able to move on whether at Penn St or another college/university. It's fair.Comment -

#17I thought that at first also, but they want to keep them open for business so they can get the $60 million from the university for their public relations program. I don't think they would have been able to get away with doing both.Comment -

Death penalty is way to harsh, you kill football there, you kill the small businesses there that depend on football in the autumn.
Hit the University hard, I am all for it, but you don't kill the entire program, goes further than football if you do.Comment -
