I don't know what effect stricter gun laws might have had here, but those like Romney who flatly rule out considering additional reasonable gun laws in any way are putting politics ahead of a better society. The Constitution does that Congress can't enact any gun restrictions.

As Governor Romney instituted the first state ban on assault rifles as the federal ban was expiring... I guess it depends on if you think Romney's current flavor of day proclamations outweigh what he actually did while he was in office...

That's a pretty ridiculous quote. If you own an assault rifle, you have to be "hunting down and killing people?" Why can't they be used for self defense? Doesn't the United States government use fully-automatic versions of those weapons? Aren't they operated out of the DEFENSE department?

Sure, you need to first get a 200 "tax stamp" and then wait 6 months approval by the ATF. This Class 3 arm will only cost you 4500. If you live in PA I know someone that can make this happen LEGALLY.
