    Maybe if closers today closed out 2 innings, I'd see an argument for closers. Not the way the game is played anymore though. Clippard was just a set-up guy until Soren went on the DL. Now, he looks solid as a closer. Somehow, he's valued more now than before, when his responsibility has not changed all that much. Some knucklehead team will probably try and trade for him because he's a closer.

      I think Mo has the most 1 inning plus saves from 2000-2010.
      Need to double check that.

            On pace for 4 blown saves. He'd need to be perfect to even remotely in the discussion with the seasons Cain/Dickey/Cueto are having. Strong CY Young competition year.

                  no way a guy that pitches a third of the innings of a starter can get the award. it has nothing to do with saves. if an RP can put up his numbers and pitch over 110IP then he should get some votes.

                  RP as bullpens are currently constructed don't have the value of a starter.
