It depends on how you look at it. What has he really 'earned'? He can't infract you, he can't ban you. He doesn't know your real name. Hell even I don't unless you've told me at some point. There is no 'access' involved with helping out with a subforum unless you have the word Moderator under your avatar. Every time he logs into SBR now, he'll actually have stuff to DO and cannot just fly off the handle or his new role will be kaput.

He will be facilitating contests and discussion in the Fantasy Forum in a subforum new to SBR. No one else has stepped up to the plate even close in this one area. Which is fair enough because how many of us spend our time on fantasy when we can make cash with actual sportsbetting? In the Poker subforum you could come up with 100+ guys who are knowledgeable about the game and interact regularly on SBR about it. For this one particular genre, who else on SBR comes close to tt with fantasy sports? I know some might see it as him being rewarded for being a jackoff at times but that's not the case. He's going to have to bust his ass and even bobbyfk got an actual Mod job here after a very sketchy past at SBR. Anyone who has entered or even popped into my tennis contests see how fukkwitty they get and I only run 8 a year. ttwarrior is going to have to do it for many contests over several sports simultaneously. If anything, wish him well because he's going to need all the good vibes he can get.

I think some of you are taking the word 'job' a bit more stringently than what I would say. I am paid to work here. Even when I'm cranky, tired, what have you I represent SBR here and elsewhere online, at books and wherever else I may go. Even if I'm just trying to post or bet as me the SBR forum user, everyone in the industry can quickly sort out who Shari is if they do 10 seconds research. I get 'outed' every time I try to sign up for a new book. "Hey Shari, say hi to Billy and John". The role ttwarrior is doing is very different to that of mine or another Mod. The word Mod is misleading because he's facilitating, not moderating. Look at him as the person running Fantasy contests and the go to guy when you have a question about your fantasy team. We need someone to develop this subforum and despite all of the promises in the world from others - and a points grab which ended up in fun times in the casino :P - no one else comes close to keeping up with this area. Does this mean if he goes on a tirade about Arabs, abuses you in poker or whatever else that he won't get an infraction or banned if necessary? Hell no. He is a poster, facilitating the development of the fantasy forum. And him and I talked about that yesterday so he is well aware. But he is by far the most knowledgeable fantasy guy here so he's the best person to run the contests that SBR wants to offer. A regular staff member could do it but it wouldn't be too much fun for you guys if we couldn't even discuss your teams or any other aspect of what was going on other than grading because we are clueless.

I think that's just for the sake of simplicity more than anything. How many titles do we want at an online forum? This isn't Walmart where you have people called Professional Positive Experience Assurers (the people who say hi when you walk in).

Don't worry about that stuff or SBR! He'll be running contests and talking about fantasy sports. It's way less of a hot topic than some of you are making it to be.
