Ben Sheets hasn't thrown a major league pitch in 2 years, starts against the Cinderella Mets and Mr. no-hitter (Santana) and the Mets today in Hot-lanta.

The game is a pick.

I can hear the Mets faithful rushing to the windows now plunking their beer money on the Amazin's at -108.

I'm not drinking the Mets and Santana kool-aid.
I'll take the Braves with Chipper, who at the age of 73 years old is still owning the Metropolitans, Ben Sheet to pitch good enough to turn over a 4-2 or so lead over to that Brave bullpen to shut the door.

Braves 2* for me.

Yeah Sheets is obviously a HUGE wildcard, so for about even money I like the mets with their ace trying to avoid the sweep against a division rival in a tight division.

Agree, I have been following Sheets #s in rehab. Not good. 5 innings, 3/4 runs, 80 pitches is absolute best case imo. Santana absolutely murdered last start, under 90 pitches though which I like.

As a big Mets fan, this might just be the beginning of the free fall that we all knew was coming... Dickey is finally coming back down to earth, bullpen is starting to get exposed, and bad luck clouds seem to surround us again in every direction.

Hard to trust Santana against this hot Braves offense... the huge wildcard is obviously Sheets, but Fredi Gonzalez says he'll only get 80 pitches or so anyway.

Braves lineup looks normal, I don't see a mets lineup yet, that should say a lot ... Duda might not play.

I was aware of that 5 ERA in the minors, and would have ran far away from this game if he wasn't coming off of DL.
But you have to ignore that 5 ERA, he was pitching to get MLB ready, he was fine tuning his pitches.

Wish I had seen this thread earlier. My fade Santana play was the ov in this game which fell a little short Was not quite sure what to expect out of Sheets however the Braves have owned Santana this year. Should have just played the Bravos
