I wouldn't "give" money to any individual. The people I'm closest to make a good enough living by themselves. That said, I would definately have an inner circle of friends who would benefit by going places and doing things on my dime. I'd probably hire a few of my closest friends and pay them well if they wanted to manage some of my assets.

My brother and sister, plus inlaws would get some benefit. Probably something more like a college fund for their children than outright cash.

Pointless. You don't bet games with doing research and finding edges. If you're going to play the lottery, you should do the same. Most states have smaller games that with a little research can be exploited a bit with wheeling strategies, still horrible odds, but better than plopping money down which could at least be used for heat if you lit the bill on fire.
