#5I cant believe the Dodgers are letting him. All they have to say is there is no f'n way, and Kemp doesn't participate, plain and simple.
The Dodgers are at serious fault here....its baffling.Comment -

#6Is I were a Dodgers fan........I would be fired up.
I've lost some serious respect for the guy. I guess quite a bit was lost when he was chopping lil' Chris Brown's seconds, haha.Comment -

if his hammy is healing i say let him get some swings in, if he cant hold up to this then obviously he not ready to come back after the break...like a little test run, except not running where the real issue is..Comment -

#11I'm thinking that too. This is glorified batting practice although the guys are trying to hit home runs on every pitch sometimes hitters do that in batting practice too.Originally posted by 2daBankif his hammy is healing i say let him get some swings in, if he cant hold up to this then obviously he not ready to come back after the break...like a little test run, except not running where the real issue is..Comment -

#12i would think he is smart enough not to be out there swinging out of his shoes, i would also think lad has doctors smart enough to know whether this could effect him/whether he healthy enough, ect..if he was scheduled to return right after break and this sets him back odds are he he was gonna re-aggravate in 1st gm back in the field anyways...Originally posted by cleavelandI'm thinking that too. #14Absolutely, good point about him not swinging too hard also. He'll probably be trying to hit line drive home runs that go solidly over the fence but not too far. All of this backs up my contention that he is a lock not to win.Originally posted by 2daBanki would think he is smart enough not to be out there swinging out of his shoes, i would also think lad has doctors smart enough to know whether this could effect him/whether he healthy enough, ect..if he was scheduled to return right after break and this sets him back odds are he he was gonna re-aggravate in 1st gm back in the field anyways...Comment -

#15that is true bro, he may not be able to resist going balls to wall.. but again if he re-aggravates it doing this then odds are he would do it 1st time he tried running down a fly ball in 1st gm back (assuming he was coming back 1st gm after break).Originally posted by Regul8erBatting Practice in front of the world though.....big big different snowman.Comment -

I just feel that Dodger fans should be a little PO'd. If Joey Bats was in the same position, and hit in the Derby, I'd be outraged.Comment -

#17If he's going up there trying to hit the ball 500 feet then it's dangerous for sure. If he's up there to hit the ball 400 feet, then it's not different then if were trying to tie up a game with a home run. What's wrong with practicing that in a batting practice situation?Originally posted by Regul8erTrue Enough banker.

#21Mattingly said WEEKS ago that Matt wil not play in the game if he does not play for the dodgers first. But he will allow him to hit in the derby. This isn't news.Comment -

#29My only problem with him is 98% of his hr's this year have been to the opposite field. His swing just doesn't suit well for the derby. He always has been most successful when hitting the other way. He should be a decent fade but then again who knows because he is just a man child.Originally posted by 2daBank
