And that is why the PAC has hit hard times in basketball.

Can't lose that amount of talent constantly, and remain top notch.

Luckily for the rest of the country, the PAC is on the rebound.

    Andre Iguodala - 'Zona
    Russell Westbrook - UCLA

Chris Paul is from Wake Forest, which has been in the ACC forever...

And when Duke and UNC are playing @ its peak the ACC can compete with any league.

Yep. Been a tough couple of years but conference is back on the rise with talent. The coaches in the league have made it tough because of their insanely disciplined sets and unatractive style of play. Hopefully that is changing.

I would estimate 1/3rd of all the athletes in the olympics are from the pac10/12 if they competed in college. Obviously many of these athletes never competed in college.

          It's just better out west.
If you were really good at some sport would you choose the midwest over california or arizona?

At least two of those Pac 12 players are only these because of injuries to other stars...

Back on the rise? The Pac-12 was worse the last 2-3 years than the Big 10 has EVER been in college basketball.

So you can preach your good weather all you want and think kids make their decisions based off weather if it makes you feel better.

That nice weather over there must make Pac-12 players pussies because they are abysmal in college basketball... currently mid major status or worse.

The thing is even though the Pac 12 got only one team in last year they should have also only gotten one team in in 2010 as well, but got really lucky when Cal backdoored its way into the NCAA tourney

Pac 12 is just a bad basketball league accept it and move on. Mountain West has supplanted the Pac 12 as the elite basketball league in the West. Went to the MWC conference tournament this past March and it was fantastic. Fans supported it really well

College basketball completely different than NBA. An excellent college team plays more team ball (only a few stand-out students), while NBA is more one-on-one isolation. Rarely see isolation in NCAA. The ACC is THE premier conference in the nation. How many final fours have Duke and UNC been too... Impossible to rate college sports based on which of it's graduates excelled at the professional level...

It is the reason that Duke players can win championships in college, but flame out in the league.

However, as coach K is getting older, he is breaking away from the traditional duke player and going after top talent. For example, Kyrie Irving.

The west is driven by talent grown in the state of Califonia, and to a lesser extent Washington. The past few years HS talent was down in the region, and the talent that was there and stayed out west - transfered to the MWC, i.e Mike Moser, Drew Gordon, etc. Even Jabari Brown transferred out of UO and landed in the now SEC.

PAC has 2 of the top 3 recruiting classes, and the talent out west is on the rise - as a result the teams out west will benefit. The trick is keeping them out west instead of being a douchebag like Ben Howland and running them off.

Yes, because the majority college players are not capable of creating their own shots, hence the lack of isolation ball.

Harden, Iggy and Westbrook dont make the team if Wade, Rose, Howard and Bosh are healthy. Love probably would be in regardless.

Wade and Bosh are bitches, they were fine a few weeks back.

                                Howard - who cares.

                                Rose - legit.

Good chance Iggy makes this team - the guy is the perfect fit for the international game, and outside of Bron, there isn't a more versatile defender.
