What happened to 3 days at the All Star break? Is there anyone in here that cares about the All Star game whatsoever?

players worked for it in the CBA agreement. it can be a 200 game 9-10 month season for some players. too big of a grind

That's why you let bench players start every once in a while. Sundays use to be automatic for that.

Only position that has any kind of grind in baseball is pitcher
If mlbpa was remotely intelligent they'd have locked in a larger specific number of pitchers on a roster and take rosters to 26 or 27 players instead of this nonsense.
Its easy to say pitching is watered down and those extra guys would suck but scoring is down so what's the difference?

All Star breaks are a waist of time. Just give the players 2 days rest.

yeah tough to sit in the outfield and wait for 4 balls a game.
catchers should be allowed to take a extra day but thats it. Most teams already get off october through april. They should play doubleheaders every day 7 days a week. If not go get mexicans they would.

DH should have mandatory workouts during All Star break.
I wonder if you add up the amount of minutes Adam Dunn has spent actually playing, would it equal the amount of one baseball game?

its not even the game itself that starts the grind. its the travel, rarely any days off to veg at home like most of us do on sat and sun. Its a 7 day a week 10 hr a day job. with alot of travel. and even top flight athletes' bodies breakdown, when you play 5-7 days a week from late feb to july..
i play a lot of rec sports and even 4-5 games in a week really make the aches, pains, and tweaks add up. in the late twenties. these guys are in way better shape and recover faster. but they are still human and not robots.
that is why steroids helped so much. it wasn't the strength gains as much as quicker recovery. The same thing with cafeine, greenies, ephedrine, adderall ect.
tough getting up for 150+ games

pay me fukkin millions and ill play 300 days in a row
gimme a break
the beauty of baseball is that over the long haul the cream rises to the top and it's not about who can "get up" for a stretch of a handful of games
