i doubt that's the reason...

only 5% win at poker and sports betting so if you are that 5% congrats. i agree though, only way you can beat the table games or the slots are either to count cards in bj or get lucky then hit and run. otherwise, they will take all of it back and then some.

also, the state run lotteries are the biggest scam in the game of chance category. it's the ultimate tax on the poor.

they juice you and force you to make a 3 team parlay at 1.7 odds.. sharps know that even if u win corner store parlays u lose

I cringe when my friends say they are good at Roulette

I try explaining to them that its a -EV game and its impossible to beat

They counter with saying "I have a foolproof strategy that wins every time"

A fool and their money are soon parted

The casino games are a waste of time and will lead to long-term losses.

Poker and sports gambling are really pretty much it. Problem is, almost everyone who bets these loses long term anyway. maybe 1-2% win in the long run. Everyone who tells you they clean up betting sports is full of it. Most are long term losers because they have poor money management, too many favorites, too many overs, too many parlays, too many teasers, too many "all in" bets, etc...

We all lose sooner or later. It's just the thrill that keeps everyone coming back and the belief that we could be part of that 1-2% group if we just work hard enough (sound familiar).

Only if you know how to count, which is nearly impossible to do in a shoe game

So you have to go to the non shoe games, likely a single deck game, at $100 per hand plus cameras and pit bosses watching you every move

Its not worth the hassle

why can't you count in a shoe game ? 8 deck with 1.5 or less decks penetration, same as non shoe games.

I guess am fortunate in that I am consumed by sports gambling, but casino games have never had any attraction to me. I will kill some low stakes time at blackjack with my buddies because they want to, but what I really want to do is hit the sportsbook, lay down bills at the window and sweat a good game with a sharp wager. Hopefully this means my maximum risk at this game is only semi-degen rather than full degen.

Never played the lotto either. I pay enough taxes as it is.
