The difference between the two is that while baseball has far more downtime in action, you know something will happen fairly consistently worth paying attention for.

With soccer you could literally go for 20 minutes of uninterrupted play (though the diving and kicking out of bounds and passing back and forth for no reason is a form of downtime in its own right) and not a single fukking thing will happen. Maybe a shot that misses by about 8 feet or a corner kick that the goalie catches.

That's why soccer is such whore shit.
