Blind ump in Yankees game just made a horrible call
Indians had runner on 3rd, 2 outs against Phil Hughes

Yankees LF Wise went into the stands attempting to catch a ball which he clearly didn't (went off the heel of his glove and into the stands), ump signals an out because he's blind and retarded

runner on 3rd, 2 outs, that ended the inning.

it looks like the ball from the game wasn't even the ball in Wise's glove. Someone stuck a different ball in there.

Umpires, like any other category of human being, make mistakes. But the error that umpire Mike DiMuro made in Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night defies any explanation. DiMuro incorrectly credited New York Yankees outfielder Dewayne Wise with a catch in … Continue reading →

did he even have a ball in his glove?

this is why baseball could use one challenge by each manager per game, if they win the challenge they get another one

absolutely it should be like football, with challenges to each team.

that's what they'd do if the reason was delays (if the reason was delays they could stop players from stalling so much)

they just don't want even more attention being paid to the incompetent umps.

Wise did not have the ball in his glove. He clearly didn't make the catch, Wise climbs out of the stands, and the ump signals out (based on what, exactly?).

The corrupt umpire's union will ensure this bumbling moron keeps getting well paid for blowing calls.

The way it should work is that if you do something this stupid, you get suspended. If you keep blowing calls, you get fired. But since baseball keeps hiring members of the union gang, this is what they get.

Balls and Strikes shouldn't be reviewed but EVERYTHING else should be allowed

the buffoon who blew the call is the son of the ump who made the famous 'shoe polish' call in the 1969 World Series. Idiocy must run in the family.

yeah, I was going to mention that.

not only do they blow easy calls, but they then eject anyone who dares challenge them on it.

                    Such a screwed up system.
