And this is what I keep telling everyone on here: Relief pitchers suck in general. If they were any good, they would be made into a starter. Any team that gives a relief pitcher a multi-year deal is asking for trouble. Miami would send Bell down if they could, but his contract is so obscene and they keep waiting for him to turn the corner but I doubt he ever will.

Would be nice if starters could just go deeper like they did in the first 130 years of baseball history.

Yuo hes a piece of Poop. U cant take any SD pitchers stats at face value. But just like most pitchers once they get thier big contract they get crushed. Happends all the time. And to pay a closer that type of $$ is crazy. U could convert a guy on ur staff or just use a closer by committee. Dont know why teams think they need 1 set closer any way.

The whole idea of a "closer" is so horribly overrated. Just pick any bullpen guy to do it. Miami has all that money tied up in Bell now. And you know other bullpen guys on the Marlins are jealous and bitter that Bell is getting that kind of money.
