I remember the days when gas was a buck a gallon. Sure some folks remember when it was 25 cents.Comment -

#6but with inflation the amount you get paid should also increase accordingly. to give people the same amount of points/day and increase the prices isn't inflationOriginally posted by convickInflation.

#9I guess I don't follow that; if a guy makes $10 an hour and gas costs $2.50 a gallon, but the price of gas goes up to $2.75, the guy shouldn't just get paid more to compensate. If the price of goods stays the same ratio of worker pay, prices would never increase or decrease as the profits stays exactly the same.Comment -

#10so you think people should be paid the same per hour as they were in the 1970s when a new car cost $3000?Originally posted by greenhippoI guess I don't follow that; if a guy makes $10 an hour and gas costs $2.50 a gallon, but the price of gas goes up to $2.75, the guy shouldn't just get paid more to compensate. eventually that gas (and groceries/healthcare/housing/etc) would get to the point where it was unaffordable to the guy still making $10/hrComment -

#13Cost of living increase is not relevant to the SBR loyalty program.
I got about 1500 points....should I let it ride and go for something big or just buy a gift card?Comment -

#16You're comparing 40 years of price and wage changes to a monthly increase? I can't go get a raise next week if my grocery bill is 3% than normal, but I will get a 5% increase or what have you in a year when the overall costs of living has risen.Originally posted by milwaukee mikeso you think people should be paid the same per hour as they were in the 1970s when a new car cost $3000?

#1940 years of price and wage increases are the result of a bunch of monthly/yearly increases so YESOriginally posted by greenhippoYou're comparing 40 years of price and wage changes to a monthly increase? sbr store prices don't go up monthly, they go up annually after the super bowl every year except for the surprise april price hike of ipadComment -

and not that i'm saying sbr is bad, quite the contrary i love the points system. but when someone pees on your head and calls it lemonade then it's time to say "no it's not lemonade (inflation), it's pee"

#28sadly that is trueOriginally posted by k13Actually that's how most of real world works too.....
inflation is pretty much a tax on the poor and middle class, while the rich get richer from it
go back 2 generations and a man could make enough in a factory job to support a family of 4. now husband and wife BOTH working 40 hours a week in a blue collar job probably can't support a family of 4 without mooching off earned income tax credit, food stamps, etcComment -

#32Do you guys not realize this is a business? They will continue to raise prices as long as there core client base (posters) continue to show up. You guys got used to or enjoyed the initial model which was used partially as a way to bring in new business, establish itself as leader and get word out. Now with highly established base, prices will continue to rise, poker costs buy ins, everything rewarded as a free play and such, as long as you, me and whoever else continues to log in, renew pro status and such. Im sure there goal is not to give everyone who logs ins and participates an IPAD.
Honestly, with market being as is current, suprised they still offer US posters much of anything.Comment
