Commonly used gambling phrases that are pet peeves?
    "Stay away from this one"

Translation: I am either incapable of handicapping this game or the well of sportscenter/covers free information to be misused has worn dry and I'll look for a more public game that I undoubtedly have an opinion on, so stay away from this one because I can't get a handle on it so no one can.

Trap, lock, and value. Three words either overused or completely misunderstood (in the case of value) with 99% of the posters on this forum.

I think it's hilarious when people say they have "inside info" about a team throwing a game.

"This game looks like a trap.''

Even worse - when a poster senses Side A is a "trap'', they bet Side B. Example: North Carolina -7 looks too good to be true. Must be a trap. I'm taking Maryland +7.

Poster loses a bet then says this..........THE GAME WAS FIXED.
                              And believes it.

I like when a bum calls his play "We are on this team..." like he belongs to a gambling syndicate.

slightly off track.......In Canada they call a touchdown a MAJOR......friggon can't stand it.

In Canada at a poker table, instead of calling the button.. the button....they call it a puck..comical to hear the dealer say pass the puck.

In America, during a hockey game some announcers call a net..a cage

They call it the "buck" in Australia and New Zealand, although passing the puck is more amusing than passing the buck IMO.
