    Be careful Euro 2012 maniacs
A Chinese football fan has died after going without sleep for eleven nights as he watched every single match of the Euro 2012 competition.

26-year old Jiang Xiaoshan died of exhaustion on Tuesday morning after reportedly staying up each night with friends to catch every kick of the European football competition, and then going to work the next day.

Following the final match of Group C, when Ireland took on Italy, Xiaoshan reportedly went back to his Changsha home at 5am, took a shower, and never woke up from the slumber he fell into.

While friends were shocked at the news of his death because he lived a 'relatively healthy life', sources revealed the effects of alcohol and tobacco, combined with chronic exhaustion, caused the weakening of his immune system that eventually led to his death.

This is why companies should create a mandatory nap time for their employees. We need more sleep, damn it! haha.

Different time zone. Two matches in group stages.

So could be 1 am to 5am then go to work, repeat.

Shari, being from Australia you and I both know how hard it is sometimes, I have had some intense dreams (waking up sweating) because I stayed up for too long trying to catch some of these soccer games. These Euro 2012 games are on at 4:15 am!

Not just Euro 2012, but league games. I used to love watching Man City and Barcelona, but most of their games were on at 4:30 am! I'm staying up today as well, how can you miss Spain vs France? I can understand what that Chinese guy went through, though I couldn't have gone more than 1 night without sleep, have gone 1 night without sleep though. Gets to the heart.

you got it right.before I read this maybe he could nap after work and before the games or he has a shitty job. if only he could have made it to the day off, the day after the last group game and before the first knock-out round game.

He stayed up that long and didn't get put to sleep by some of the games? Spain/Croatia was brutal the other day. That was putting me to sleep.
