NBA Finals(2-3-2) Gm 5 history: Road team that trails 1-3, wins 75%
Since 1985 when the NBA went to the Finals format of 2-3-2, 2012 will be the 5th time a team trailing 1-3 will be playing Gm 5 on the road.
1986 Hou 1-3 won Gm 5 at Bos
1993 Pho 1-3 won Gm 5 at Chi
1998 Utah 1-3 won Gm 5 at Chi
All three teams than proceeded to lose series in 6 on their home court.
2012 OKC 1-3...will they make this GM 5 situation 80%?

Only team ever to lose on the road trailing 1-3:
2004 LAL 1-3 lost at Det

Side note:Surprisingly, when the team trailing 1-3 played Gm 5 at home, they went only 4-5.

Houston was HOME for Game 5 in 1986

these types of trends always are too small.

          You are correct. My oversight.

If I recall, I think there was a fight in that game.

              Yes, small sample size.
The analogy is both MJ and Lebron considered the best player of their day.
Twice, MJ with Bulls leading 3-1 could not close out Finals at home in Gm 5.
But recovered to close out Finals in 6 on the road.

I remember Rockets over Boston, Pacers over Lakers and Lakers over Boston. Who was fourth winner?

Actually with your correction their were 5 teams trailing 1-3 who won Gm 5 at home.
You're missing 1987 Boston over Lakers and 1996 Seattle over Bulls
So that stat is actually 5-4, not 4-5.
